Scope: Public-safe steps for indexer backfill and recovery.
1. Backfill steps
- Select a snapshot height or genesis start.
- Run the indexer in backfill mode.
- Validate event counts and entity totals.
- Validate key derived views (entity registry, wallets, tagged events, anchors) against spot-checked on-chain queries.
2. Reorg handling
- Detect reorgs via height/hash mismatch.
- Rewind affected ranges and reprocess.
- Do not publish reports or “final” period exports until reorg risk for the target window is acceptably low.
3. Recovery checklist
- Verify last processed height matches the chain.
- Confirm report outputs match reference expectations as defined in docs/spec/SPEC-INDEXER.md.
- Confirm exported schemas and tags remain compatible with docs/spec/SPEC-DATA.md.
